This is one of the most common questions we get asked and rightfully so – Tuft and Needle’s "Mattress Stores are Greedy" advertising campaign has raised the issue and question within consumers’ minds.  So now it’s our turn to tell our side of the story.

The Major Brands and Models are Price Protected

Here’s the truth:  The manufacturers dictate the selling price, not the store or mattress dealer.

Price-protected means that no matter where you go across the country, most of the top brands and models you are comparing will have  the same price, same name, and same feel.  So is it the manufacturer or store that is greedy?

Placing Value on the Option to Test

The reality is most people still want to test a mattress before they buy it.  The rationale is obvious as research continues to suggest that  sleep and overall health are highly correlated.  And since you may not buy another mattress for 10 years, it makes it even more important that you select the right mattress.

Can you test an online mattress?

Any "extra" you pay, which is a fabrication we just noted, may be justified by your ability to test dozens of mattresses.  At Furniture Mall of Kansas, we have over 100.  The reality is it costs the dealer money to operate:  rent, overhead, staff, training, inventory, etc.

When you go to a store, not only will they have a trained sleep specialist who can assess your current situation and lead you in the right direction, but you’ll have the option to test.  There is value there and it has nothing to do with greed and everything to do with making the right decision.

Who’s the Greedy Party?

The irony is that it can be argued that it’s "Greedy" to sell only one type of mass-produced mattress as if it’s the right choice for everyone.

To start the process of choosing the perfect mattress, take our sleep assessment.  Visit www.furnituremallofkansas.com/mattresses and bring your results into the store.  Test as many beds as you like - we can’t wait to help you with a perfect night’s sleep.
