Dolores' passion for design started early in life. Although her attention to detail led down a path into Accounting she longed for more personal interaction, more color, and more hands on experiences. The next stop in her career was 17 years as Store Manager and Lead Buyer at Skinner Garden Store. Dolores then took the opportunity to move to our Nation's Capitol and work at one of the busiest floral shops in Washington DC. As Manager, she was able to increase weekend sales by over 300%. Self taught floral designer skills led to making arrangements for some of the highest rated hotels in DC including the 5 star Mandarin Oriental. Moving back to her home state of Kansas allowed her to fulfill a life long goal of working in the furniture and design industry. She loves nothing better than spending the day at The Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, absorbing inspiration from Vintage furniture, lush textures, African art and Asian Textiles. Dolores loves creating a versatile, beautifully layered, livable living space for clients. Her attention to details includes taking the time to work with various flooring options including custom rugs, as well as trips to the paint store to pick out the perfect paint colors to bring the whole look together. Her need to be hands on gives way to her meeting the delivery team and tweaking the design as needed to give the client that over all look that they aspired. Dolores loves to embrace the clients' ideas and push them gently outside their comfort zone, all the while making their home a more beautiful and comfortable space that reflects the clients aesthetics as well as making it unique and personalized.
